The Pink Pagoda Blue and White Par-tay!

I so wanted to participate in the blue and white link party hosted by Jennifer over at the Pink Pagoda. If you're a fan of blue and white I suggest you click here to check it out!

Here's a recap of three projects that I'm working on in the wonderful world of
you guessed it ....

Blue and White.

#1

Blue and white family room:

The middle geometric fabric is going to be used on the windows of the family room. We are recovering an ottoman with the fabric on the right (Brunchwig and Fils LesTouches) and the Blue pagoda fabric will be used on the large pillows for the sofa. The window treatments are almost finished and I promise to share once I get them installed!

Here's the fun rug from Dash & Albert we are considering for this room:

#2

Blue and white first floor reno fabric scheme

with pops of raspberry:

This is the fabric scheme for a first floor reno I'm working on.

The trellis fabric will be used for kitchen window roman shades.  The large wide stripe fabric is an indoor/outdoor fabric that I'm using on  two wing chairs that will be used as host and hostess chairs at the kitchen table. The John Robshaw fabric will become window panels in that same room.

The living room will house these blue and white chairs from Serena & Lily

Along with the diamond pattern fabric that will cover two ottomans in the same room. On the windows? White linen panels with navy greek key trim.

Where will the raspberry come in? As accent pillows and piping of course!

All of these pieces are being fabricated right now and can't wait to show you the end result!

#3

Blue and white bedroom:

Remember this bedroom?

Here's the latest piece waiting to be hung in this blue and white bedroom

We have a mirror people!!! but still waiting for window treatments to be finished and pillows to be made. Will keep you in the loop as things progress over there!

Anyway that's my blue and white recap so I'm clicking over to the Pink Pagoda to check out the other blue and white posts... why don't you join me?

Thanks for reading!

Dark grey walls and how to create a gallery wall the super easy way!

Pondering ...

Dark grey walls ... still.

all images via pinterest

LOVE it especially with lots of white accents!

Steal of the week...insta-gallery wall

I have to go with another West Elm item for this pick. I love that they sell an instant gallery wall in such pretty frames. I have so many friends and clients who want to create a gallery wall with family photos but aren't sure how to pull it off. Well, here's an easy answer...

Insta-Gallery wall for under $200

West Elm

Or how about this version with pretty linen mattes?
West Elm

Buy them, hang them and fill them!! Need to fill a larger space?  Buy two sets and you can even mix and match the frames.

So, what are you waiting for? Go fill that lonely, empty wall space with fun family memories!

I'm going to leave you with this...

Things I'm all about this week

So I'm working on a family room addition with the nicest cutest family ever:)

This is our fabric scheme

This blue colorway is so fresh and fun...the trellis fabric will be used for window treatments and the other two for large and luxurious pillows.

How cool is this light fixture and bead board ceiling the homeowners chose for their new space?

So lucky to be working with yet another client with fabulous taste:)
Will keep you posted as this room develops!!

Remember this dining room wallpaper?

Well pieces similar to these will be arriving soon!

Love the combination of traditional dining furniture with fresh and modern wallpaper!
Will share pictures upon arrival.... I know such a tease aren't I?

This lovely lavender fabric scheme has been presented to another client and selections have been made!

And you guessed it ...you'll have to wait and see ... oh the suspense!

Okay let's talk about you guys and how you can add texture to a room without spending a lot of $$.

My favorite accent pillow

West Elm
Mongolian Lamb pillow
$59

So fun and soft! It's a perfect way to add texture to a chair or sofa for fall. Pair it with your favorite throw and it will become your favorite spot in the room!

Speaking of fall I'm obsessing over adding one of these winter coats in pale pink to my closet.

Saw the double-cloth lady coat in RETRO PINK on page 6 of the new JCREW catalog and I love it paired with camel or olive green.

I can't seem to find the image of it on the net or the website??

Would you wear a pale pink winter coat or is it just to toddlerish?

Thanks for reading!! xoxox

Deals and steals in home design and a pink flamingo miracle!

In my pursuit of a well-designed home I sometimes stumble upon some great home design pieces that are both beautiful and inexpensive so I'd like to share them with you.

But you'll have to bare with me a bit so I can share something of a decorator moment with you:)

So I was charged with a new project.

Now I ask you how am I going to improve upon this girly perfection?

I mean, really?

So I added these bedside lamps.

Land of Nod

Cute, but it's still not rocking my world and I'm feelin' the pressure because this little gal I'm designing this room for is such a fashionista. AND...  when I came over to chat about her room we automatically hit it off. We were instant BFF's. And I happen to know the other plastics in her posse Audrey S and Ella S. And I swear if I were 3 again (and I most certainly am not) this would be my posse. I imagine we would play dress up, Barbies and swoon over Sophia the First..

So you can feel my pressure  ... right?

So I hit the marketplace on a rainy gloomy day to see if I could create a show stopper in the room by reinventing this piece.

And then this happened.

BAM!

Hand to God as I was standing in the showroom and this fabric magically appeared on that gray gloomy day the sun came out, the rain stopped and I swear I heard a faint hallelujah in the background.

 Flamingo Fabric on ottoman
Pink on chair with white piping.

Perfectly in sync with wall art and window treatments (trust me on this)
Now that's a happy ending any Disney princess would be proud of!

Some of my favorite inexpensive go-to's in home décor

Kitchen and Mudroom Rug

You know that spot in your kitchen near the sink or that area where your dog and kids track in mud?

This is the perfect rug it's bold, modern and fun and there's not a lot of white space in the rug so it hides dirt and stains and if it were to stain? It's indoor outdoor and you just hose it down.

Dash & Albert
Black and white diamond indoor/outdoor rug
GREAT for all those white kitchens!

I have it in my house under the sink and I swear I haven't touched it in almost a year!

Small flushmount

Have a long narrow hallway, small mudroom or entry?

These are clean and modern ... and they come with a chain so you can use as a pendant!

Shades of Light
$149
Source -- can't remember where I got this picture anyone?

Console Table

Need a long, narrow console table? Maybe to anchor a TV or to put behind a large sofa? I read about this table somewhere (can't remember) and have used it bc it has a depth of only 12".

Here it is in distressed black

$349

Pillows
Please Pottery barn I beg of you never to discontinue these
I know a lot of you know about these but they're great pillows to fill in amongst your designer pillows. Love the jute braiding to add just a bit of texture.

Pottery Barn
from $19.99

Okay this was just a sampling I promise to try and add a great find to each and every post. So stay tuned!!

oh yea -- two more things I had to share....

Beautiful faucet of the day

Beautiful office of the day

My week (at least according to my iphone)

I'm lucky enough to have clients who trust me to help make their homes more beautiful and functional for their families.

I'm even luckier when my clients have incredible taste and a great  eye for design and then choose a builder who can seamlessly carry out their vision.

So remember the first floor reno I was working on in Doylestown? Well, I was there this week to start phase two ... the decorating! But I have to share these up close and personal pictures of her amazing kitchen.

Remember the before
Mr. yellowy-brown cabinets?

Here's the after!

One of the greatest pieces of island lighting I've ever seen in person. And this room could carry it off with it's soaring ceiling!

My little buddy Bennett enjoying a little breaky!

Little P about to wipe out every spatula in the joint!
This cabinet was custom designed by my client to hold all of this stuff!

Bookshelves we are working on that will be styled

Have you noticed the beauty of the custom cabinetry everywhere?

My client and I would highly recommend this firm JR Maxwell Builders. All of the custom cabinetry work was done by Cashman Woodworking. Inbox me if you'd like to learn more!

One last thing ... I'd like to thank this family for sharing their reno journey with me. I feel like we've become a family xoxo to them and I'm so happy for them and for their beautiful new home!

Also on my iphone
Oh for the love of lavender!

Found at Market place large palm print. Sun room anyone? With lots of green and white and botanicals??? anyone?
