X-benches, ottomans, cubes, garden gnomes and client progress!

I think an ottoman/x-bench is a must for every family room.

They're functional because they add additional seating yet they don't take up much visual space. Also, they can be tucked under a console table.

Another bonus? They're loads of fun!! They can add...

 Wild color to your room

Did you notice in the picture above how the benches stick out from under the console?
I love the extra layer and dimension they add as long as it does not get in the way of a traffic pattern. May not work if you have kids that use open space as a race track followed quickly by a barking dog chasing them at top speed ( in other words ...my house!)

 Gnome he did-ent!
Ummm..... not a huge fan of garden gnomes but somehow this just works in Jonathan Adler's home

They can also add pattern

Softness? yep that too.

You can store stuff in them

 And complete a seating arrangement

  1. Love that kitchen and family room project. I can't wait to see that finished. I would put a couple of gnomes around for some humor.
